The CEO of Emirates airline, Tim Clark, expressed concerns regarding plans for the construction of a third runway at Heathrow Airport. Clark suggested that this project could cost 'a staggering 15 billion sterling pounds' and voiced skepticism about its feasibility in the current situation. The construction of such infrastructure, in the opinion of Emirates' leadership, may prove excessive, considering trends in global aviation, especially since the overall volume of passenger traffic has not restored for an extended period after the pandemic.
"We are confident that Heathrow Airport should start reconsidering new investments, because their scale may simply be unsustainable," Clark added. He also mentioned that future summer plans will be subject to greater scrutiny, and it is worth seriously considering investments in such large projects.
